After a Natural Dyeing Session

$75.00

This painting shows a bowl of dried Tansy flowers awaiting the next natural dyeing session. The yellow of the flowers is reflected in the large dye pot that sits nearby, drying from a recent scrubbing. Tansy makes a beautiful cool yellow dye and can be found in meadows and along roadsides late in the summer.

I loved how the overcast morning light created soft contrasts of light and shadow.

This is an original painting study. Even if you’ve just got a small corner of wall, there are a number of little gems to choose from!

Details

Gouache on tan-coloured paper, 4.25” x 6.25”

Titled and signed in pencil by the artist below the work.

Custom matted in a white mat and ready-to-frame in a standard 8x10” frame.

I love studies for the life and energy they capture! They show the thought process of the artist and have an intimacy and immediacy to them that finished studio work sometimes doesn’t. They are also a very affordable way to collect original works of art!

Wouldn’t you love this little one-of-a-kind painting?
