Stovetop Reflections
This painting captures a corner of the kitchen on a bright overcast morning. I was drawn to reflected light on the stovtop. The patina of the coffee pot and the brightly coloured objects of everyday life add to this quiet moment at home.
I find these snippets of everyday life to be one of my favourite things to paint. They have a way of capturing a particular place and period in our lives that becomes increasingly meaningful with the passing of time.
This is an original painting study. Even if you’ve just got a small corner of wall, there are a number of little gems to choose from!
Details
Gouache on tan-coloured paper, 4.75” x 6.75”
Titled and signed in pencil by the artist beneath the work.
Custom matted in a white mat and ready-to-frame in a standard 8x10” frame.
I love studies for the life and energy they capture! They show the thought process of the artist and have an intimacy and immediacy to them that finished studio work sometimes doesn’t. They are also a very affordable way to collect original works of art!
Wouldn’t you love this little one-of-a-kind painting?
