Hallway Reflections
This painting shows the hallway of our old house, in the soft overcast light of late winter. Light glinted off picture frames and mirrors, and shone through the front door window. Collections of everyday objects gather on the bookshelf beneath the stairs. I loved the quiet, reflective feeling of this everyday snippet of life and home.

I love studies for the life and energy they capture! They show the thought process of the artist and have an intimacy and immediacy to them that finished studio work sometimes doesn’t. They are also a very affordable way to collect original works of art!
