Shipping & returns

Each and every order I receive is handled, packaged, and shipped with great care. I want my art to bring joy for many years to come and my goal is for you to be completely happy with your purchase!

MATERIALS

Every fine art print, card, and original painting is created with careful intention to ensure each is of the highest and most lasting quality materials possible. I do my best to ensure all listing photos have accurate colours, and that descriptions accurately represent each item. For detailed information on materials and size, please read individual listings carefully. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions before placing your order!

RETURN POLICY

All prints and original artwork are final sale, and not available for return or exchange. As a solopreneur it is simply not feasible for me to offer returns and exchanges on items. Thank you for your understanding.

SHIPPING ADDRESS

You are responsible for providing me with an accurate address for shipping. I am not liable if the address was incorrect and your package was not received. If you place an order an realize there is an issue with the address you provided, please reach out to me ASAP.

In the event that you did not realize the address was incorrect until after it has been shipped, please see the section “Not delivered / lost / stolen”, below.

Shipping of Prints & Originals

I typically ship orders placed on this website within 3-5 business days, but sometimes ship them more quickly. I live in a rural location and ship orders approximately once per week. If you need an item quickly or packaged in a particular way, please let me know as soon as you have placed your order and I will do my best to accommodate you.

I happily ship both originals and prints within Canada, the US, and internationally. The price varies per item based on how it is packaged and its size. Please see individual shop listings for prices. Typically, artwork is not charged a fee at the border. However, I am not responsible for any customs or duty placed on your item(s) at the border.

Prints are usually shipped in a flat mailer without tracking. Large prints (13x19) are shipped as a parcel, and their shipping cost reflects this. 

Originals are packaged carefully and shipped as parcels via the best available service.

If you live in Nova Scotia, I am happy to offer FREE local pick-up and – in the case of larger orders, custom paintings, or originals – I sometimes offer in-person delivery

If you live in the South Shore area, I am also happy to bring a selection of original paintings to you for you to see in your home before making a selection – as long as the paintings are available in my studio and not on display in a gallery or show!

ORIGINAL ART FROM GALLERY ON LINCOLN

If you purchased an original painting from Gallery on Lincoln, in Lunenburg, and chose to have it shipped (instead of taking it with you), I will reach out to you within 2-3 business days of your purchase. I will provide you with a shipping invoice that is to be paid in full by e-transfer, PayPal, or other agreed-upon method before I ship your artwork. Once I have received payment, I will ship your painting to you. If you are travelling for a length of time, I am happy to delay shipment until an agreed-upon date. I am not responsible for any additional customs or duty fees that may be incurred at the border.

Lost or damaged items

If you received a tracking number for your order, please keep an eye out for your parcel and check the contents as soon as possible. In the rare event that something went awry in transit, please reach out to me within 7-days of receiving your order

I am not liable for any mishandling or failed delivery by the shipping service (Canada Post, USPS, etc. domestically or internationally). I work hard to package each order with care in sturdy mailers or boxed packaging so that it arrives undamaged. 

DAMAGED PRINT OR ORIGINAL ARTWORK: If your order is damaged in transit, please reach out to me directly by email within 7-days of receiving your order (michelle@paintedstories.co). I am happy to handle this on a case by case basis. If the item is a reproduction print and can be recreated, I may ship you a replacement item. If the item is an original piece of artwork, I will need you to provide proof of the damage. You may be asked to file a claim with the shipping service. If the order is a complete loss and I offer a refund or replacement, I ask that you return the artwork to me, either in the original packaging or in sturdy packaging purchased at your local post office. You are responsible for any additional shipping costs for both returning the item (if applicable) and the replacement item(s).

NOT DELIVERED / LOST / STOLEN: If your item had a tracking number and is marked “Delivered” and yet is nowhere to be found on your doorstep, please first check your confirmation email to ensure that you input the correct shipping address. I am unable to replace any item for free if the shipping address is incorrect. This does happen occasionally, and it is not uncommon to have the package returned here to my studio. However, note that it can sometimes take several weeks or a month. If I do receive the returned item, I am more than happy to forward it to your correct address, though I ask that you pay for the postage. If the shipping address is correct and you believe your package to have been lost, stolen, or if you missed the delivery, you must contact the shipping service personally. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything I can do on my end. If a package is unable to be delivered, and is returned to my studio, I am happy to reship it to an adjusted address, but ask that you pay the for the additional postage. I am unable to reprint any order for free that has been not delivered, lost, or stolen.

DAMAGED AFTER RECEIPT: I am not liable for any damage incurred post-delivery. Please store your artwork away from ANY possible water, sunlight, or heat damage. Please also handle your new artwork with care when unpackaging, framing, and hanging. If you have any questions about how best to display, frame, or hang your artwork, please reach out to me.
