Winter Laneway in the Snow

While out for a walk, I couldn't help but notice the sunlight peeking between rooftops to cast sunspots down the length of the snowy laneway behind our house. I was stopped in my tracks as I looked down the lane seeing the play of warm sunlight against cool shadows... and the tail lights of that truck parked in the deepest shadow.
The original painting was done in gouache on watercolour paper.
